WHITE-WINGED SCOTER showing this evening

The first-year drake NORTH AMERICAN WHITE-WINGED SCOTER is still present this evening, about 400 yards offshore and diving on its own between the pack of Eider and the main pack of moulting scoters. The tide is well out but coming in - the bird being viewable from Murcar Links Golf Course.

From the A90 north of Aberdeen, take the Blackdog exit. Drive to the end of the road and then take the track to the beach beyond the fishing huts and walk along the clifftop or dunes south
