This superb adult drake NORTH AMERICAN WOOD DUCK settled just offshore of the FPSO Maersk Curlew platform (at 56 44 N 01 17 E) on 2nd November 2003.
The record is accepted on to Category D of the UK400 Club Definitive List of Birds of Britain and Ireland and as such represents the only acceptable record of this popular wildfowl species in captivity.
